CHEESE - MUSHROOM BREAD FONDUE
...try this nice cheese fondue recipe..great !

INGREDIENTS
  • 12 slices white bread
  • 3 tbsp. melted butter
  • 4 c. shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 lb. mushrooms
  • 4 eggs
  • 3 c. milk
  • 1/2 tsp. salt, pepper, paprika

INSTRUCTIONS
Early in the day or day before, grease a 13 x 9 baking dish. Trim crust from bread and brush slices with butter. Cut each slices in half. Arrange half of bread in one layer in baking dish. Top with half of cheese and all of mushrooms. Repeat with remaining bread and cheese.

In large bowl, mix well eggs and remaining ingredients. Pour over bread and refrigerate, covered, for at least 1 hour. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Uncover and bake 40 to 50 minutes until knife inserted in center comes out clean. This cheese fondue recipe serves 8 persons....hmm...nice taste ! Enjoy it !

POTATO CHEESE FONDUE

INGREDIENTS
  • 4 med. potatoes, peeled and sliced
  • 3 c. water
  • 1 tbsp. butter
  • 1 1/2 c. milk
  • 1/2 c. coarsely grated Parmesan or Romano cheese
  • 2 egg yolks
  • Salt and pepper
  • Cayenne
  • Marjoram
INSTRUCTIONS
Cook potatoes in 3 cups water until mushy. Drain potatoes, reserving liquid; sieve potatoes. Melt butter in saucepan; add flour and cook without browning for a minute or two. Stir in potatoes with reserved liquid and milk. Blend until smooth and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add the cheese and beat in the yolks. Continue beating until mixture is smooth, hot, and thick. Add a pinch of salt and cayenne. Crumble a pinch of marjoram over top.

Good dippers are bread, cooked turkey or ham cubes, or tiny cooked meatballs, raw cauliflower, cherry tomatoes, zucchini or sliced carrots. The Cheese fondue recipe of potato is ready...bon apetit !

  • 3 c. cubed French bread or other bread
  • 3 c. cubed ham steak, already cooked
  • 1 c. grated sharp cheddar cheese
  • 3 tbsp. flour
  • 1 tbsp. dry mustard (like Coleman's)
  • 1/4 c. melted butter
  • 4 eggs
  • 3 c. milk
  • Drops of Tabasco
  • 1 tsp. Lea & Perrins Sauce

INSTRUCTIONS
Grease 2 quart casserole. Layer bread, ham, cheese. Mix flour and mustard. Sprinkle over cheese. Mix eggs, milk, Tabasco, Lea and Perrins. Pour over layers. Drizzle butter on top. Bake, uncovered at 350 degrees for 1 hour. The cheese fondue recipe is ready to serve...great !

  • 3 tbsp. finely chopped onion
  • 6 eggs
  • 2 tbsp. parsley
  • 1 tsp. salt

CHEESE FONDUE INSTRUCTIONS
Remove crusts from bread. Cut bread into cubes. Beat eggs, milk and seasonings with beater. Stir in bread cubes, cheese and onions. Pour into baking dish and bake for 1 hour at 325 degrees. The cheese fondue recipe is ready to serve.....nice !

  • 1 c. process or cheddar cheese, 1/4 lb.
  • 3 eggs

Remove crust from bread, butter one side. Put butter side down into baking dish. Sprinkle cheese over bread. Mix remaining ingredients and pour over bread, carefully.Bake at 350 degrees for 30-40 minutes. Bacon fried crisp and sprinkled over top adds a good change.   • 6 slices bacon
  • 1/4 c. chopped onion
  • 2 tsp. flour
  • 1 lb. cheese (4 c. shredded)
  • 2 c. sour cream
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce

INSTRUCTIONS
Fry bacon; drain, reserving 1 tablespoon of drippings. Crumble bacon and set aside. Cook onions in reserved drippings until tender, not brown. Stir in flour. Add remaining ingredients. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly until cheese is melted. Pour into fondue pot. Top with bacon. 6-8 servings.Use hard rolls, rye bread, mushrooms, green peppers, etc. to dip. BAKED CHEESE AND TOMATO FONDUE

BAKED CHEESE AND TOMATO FONDUE RECIPE

INGREDIENTS
  • 2/3 c. soft butter, divided
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 1 tsp. dry mustard, divided
  • 1 (10 oz.) loaf Italian bread, unsliced
  • 3 c. grated Swiss cheese (3/4 lb.)
  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • Pepper
  • 3 tbsp. grated onion
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. paprika
  • 1/3 c. flour
  • 2 c. milk
  • 1 (14 1/2 oz.) can tomatoes, undrained

INSTRUCTIONS
DAY BEFORE: Cream 1/3 cup butter with garlic and 1/2 teaspoon mustard. Remove ends of bread and cut loaf into 1/4 inch slices. Spread 1 side of each slice with butter mixture. Line bottom and sides of 2 quart casserole with bread slices, buttered side down. In a large bowl, combine cheese, onion, salt, paprika, pepper, and remaining mustard. Toss to blend well.

In a medium saucepan, melt remaining butter. Remove from heat; gradually stir in milk. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Stir in tomatoes. Add a little of the hot mixture to eggs and stir. Pour all eggs into saucepan, stirring constantly. Arrange alternate layers of cheese mixture, remaining brad and tomato sauce in casserole, ending with bread, butter side up. Refrigerate overnight, covered.

NEXT DAY: Bake at 375 degrees for 50-60 minutes or until puffy and golden brown.
This is a casserole rather than a fondue as we usually think of it. It must be prepared one day before baking. The cheese fondue recipe is ready ...enjoy It !
